The Institute recently conducted a training workshop entitled Gender as a catalyst for change. The training which was conducted from the 28-31 July 2009 was attended by 35 delegates that represented Gauteng’s Department of Education and the South African Police Services (SAPS).
The workshop aimed to offer the participants with an awareness of gender sensitivity as well as the relevant theoretical tools and knowledge to contribute towards transformation in their respective individual, local and work environments.
The following comments were made by some of the participants:
- “This was an eye opening course and informative. Our scope on gender issues has been broadened. We hope to impart our knowledge and engage with the broader community. The inclusion of various stakeholders was fruitful.”
