Strategic worksession - 20/20 Vision

Department for Education Innovation Strategic Session

The Department for Education Innovation held a strategic planning session entitled ‘Focus on the future’ from 5 to 7 May 2009.

To ensure that we had ‘the whole elephant in the room’, we invited a number of stakeholders to join us on 5 and 6 May: Faculties, BIRAP, quality assurance, ITS, academic planning, CE at UP, facilities, corporate communication, community engagement and the library.

Using a number of fun but focused activities we explored the internal and external environment over the past thirty years and tried to predict where the trends would take us in future. On the third day, all EI staff members worked together in groups to consolidate the information from the stakeholder sessions into major strategies, vision, mission, objectives and more detailed action plans.

The work of refining the document continues but we hope that the plan will help us and our stakeholders to see clearly how our actions can create major change impacts between 2010 and 2020.
