On Friday, 27 July 2012, a delegation of the Department of Humanities Education visited Lebone College close to Rustenburg in order to forge links with the colleagues with the eye on possible collaboration in future.

It was a lovely day during which the colleagues of the Department were inspired by the architecture of this model private school, as well as by the glimps they had of the effective values and learner-centred education.

Drs Alta Engelbrecht and LD Beukes and mrs Ronel de Villiers saw and experienced wonderful examples of creative and specialised education in their subject lines (Afrikaans, Geography and Music) during a tour of the school. The school offers, among others, a grade 13 programme in which grade 12 learners complete a bridge year if they have not perform well enough in a certain subject.
