This July will showcase the 26th FISU Universaide, World Student Games, hosted by the city of Belgrade in Serbia from 1 July 2009.

2009 will also be a year of note in South African Taekwondo history as it will be the second time South Africa participates at this prestigious International event. TuksTaekwondo THREE athletes make history to represent South Africa.

The Team:

Female: Yentl Krugel is a fourth-year Fine Arts student and makes history in more ways than one as she will be the first athlete to represent South Africa at the Universaide Poomsae Section and her presence at this event marks the first time South Africa has ever entered an athlete into a Poomsae competition.

Technical Team:

Coach : Master Cho

Team Manager: Sibongile Maswanganye

We wish our athletes the best of blessings and the 2009 USSA Taekwondo team as a whole the best of luck for the  Games.
