Welcome to the University of Pretoria Camerata

The University of Pretoria Camerata was officially established on 19 March 1968. Its mission is to make a contribution towards the cultural development of the student corps and the cultural enrichment of the community by means of choral singing.The conductors, Adolf Theron, Willem van Tonder, Prof Petru Gräbe, Prof Johann van der Sandt, Christo Burger and currently the very accomplished Michael Barrett have always upheld high artistic values. Condolences to Mr Walter Butt - 09/09/2014

Mr Walter Butt sadly passed away on 30 August after a battle with lymph cancer. Mr Butt will be remembered as a committed and dedicated conductor who saw the choir through a challenging period during 2012.

Tuks Camerata, the official choir of the University of Pretoria invites prospective choir singers to audition for the 2015 choir. The auditions will take place 22 - 30 September 2014. The choir is for full time registered UP students between the ages of 18 – 24 years.

Champions of the World - 01/08/2014

The University of Pretoria Camerata Choir participated in the World Choir Games, also known as the ‘Olympics for Choirs’, which was held in Riga, Latvia, from 9 to 14 July. Camerata excelled and returned with two gold medals.
