Projects Proposals

Introduction

Seed capital is awarded by the University of Pretoria for education innovation projects.  Application for this funding is made via a project proposal which outlines the nature of the project.

Each year, the Department for Education Innovation (EI) invites departments to submit project proposals requesting support and funding for education innovation projects.  Departments also have the option to register online courses which do not require additional funding.

Projects not requiring seed funds

The request for a clickUP module form is intended to simplify the process for the approval and implementation of web-supported projects only . It is understood that no Education Innovation seed funds are required initially. If the project evolves into one which does require additional resources, then a full project proposal for seed funding may be submitted to the Department for Education Innovation.

Projects requiring seed funds

The following documents provide help and guidance in drawing up project proposals where seed funds will be required:

Awarding of seed funds

A Steering Committee considers these proposals and allocates the necessary funds after the closing date for submission of project proposals. The Project Office within EI will inform the Project Leader about the application and provide the necessary documentation in order to access the funds.

Project Teams

For each project approved by the Steering Committee, a project team is established, which consists of various role players. The ownership of an education innovation project resides in the academic department and therefore the Project Leader is normally the Head of Department of other senior academic in the department. The role of the Project Leader is vital in driving the project and co-coordinating the submission of material to EI.
