As we move into Friday, 2nd December 2012, TuksSwimming & TuksAquatics represents all around the World.
As I type, I am watching the TuksWaterpolo ladies team competing in the Semi Final of the 2012 USSA aquatics tournament in East London. They are playing against the team from Maties. So far the team has won 2 & lost 3 matches.
Linked with this, is the TuksSwimming Student Team whom after 2 days of racing, (in the middle of their taper for the NTS champs starting the 9th December) are lying top of the pile, leading the swimming competition by 120 points. This is awesome! Considering we only have 4 ladies competing, including our 2008 paralympian Emily Gray, a first year student at TUKS.
In the USA we currently have Roland Schoeman competing at the US winter nationals in Atlanta. In Day 1 yesterday, he swam a solid 22.19 just outside the Olympic A time of 22.11 to finish 2nd.
In Eindhoven, Holland this morning we have 5 swimmers, namely: Gerhard Zandberg, Karin Prinsloo, Darren Murray, Jason Lawson and 16year old Vanessa Mohr looking to swim A qualifying Olympic standards.
Currently in Nigeria we have 5 young up and coming swimmers as part of our long term development program. After Day 1's racing Rita Naude (100 back - gold) and Ryan Coetsee (50fly - gold and 100free - silver) won medals.
All in all, our entire program is showing its depth and performance status across all levels of participation. This, on the back of finishing a close second (4 points) at the Presidents Gala and our newly formed TuksSwimming Limpopo also finishing second at the Limpopo Provincial Swimming Championships. & with all our swimmers leading up to defend our NTS provincial title for the 10th year in a row at next weekend’s NTS provincial swimming championships.
Let's go TuksSwimmers. 'NO COMPROMISE'
